I am lawyer by heart and education, but an IT Product Owner by profession. Having studied law and interned at a Law Firm in Macedonia, made me think about what other areas I could work at. So, I started an internship at one of the largest global banks and knew it – I want to work for a corporate. However, it took me a while until I got there. So, I first started as a legal adviser at the Government in Macedonia. The Office of the Prime Minister sounded challenging and motivating, since I was often participating in committees that had to do with legal design and different procedures. That experience landed me in one of the biggest telecommunication companies in Macedonia. But soon enough, I started noticing the gap I have regarding technology and business. So, I decided to make a bold move and moved to Poland, to work for Deutsche Telekom IT GmbH from T-Mobile Polska. In about 5 years, I navigated through IT compliance, IT project management and entered the world of SAP. My legal background enabled me a good ground for starting a career as a Product Owner in Governance, Risk and Compliance. Working as a lawyer in IT requires real interdisciplinary mindset and approach. After that amazing experience in Poland, I moved to Hilti in Switzerland where I lead the Consumables Management Project as IT Product Owner with a focus on introducing new payment models to the construction industry, such as subscriptions. Nowadays, I do not do many legal work. But it was my openness to learn new things, become interdisciplinary project management professional and keen interest on SAP world, that landed me here.
